When you register for a Bufeco account or book a stay, we collect:
- Account details — name, email address, phone number, and password.
- Booking details — check-in and check-out dates, room or bunk type, number of guests, and special requests.
- Identity information — government ID or passport details, where a property requires it for check-in.
- Payment information — card or payment method details, processed through our payment provider. Bufeco does not store full card numbers on its own servers.
- Device & usage information — IP address, browser type, pages visited, and approximate location, collected automatically when you use the site or app.
- Communications — messages you send to hotels, our support team, or through in-app chat.
02How we use it
We use your information to:
- Create and manage your Bufeco account.
- Process bookings and payments, and send confirmations and receipts.
- Communicate booking updates, such as changes or cancellations.
- Provide customer support and resolve disputes with a property.
- Improve search results, recommendations, and platform performance.
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or violations of our terms.
- Send optional marketing updates, which you can opt out of at any time.
05Data retention
We keep account and booking information for as long as your account is active, and for a limited period afterward to meet legal, accounting, and dispute-resolution requirements. When you request account deletion, we remove or anonymize personal data that is no longer legally required to be kept.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Request deletion of your account and associated data.

07Children's privacy
Bufeco is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
08Security
We use encryption in transit, access controls, and regular security reviews to protect your information. No system is completely secure, so we encourage you to use a strong, unique password and to contact us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
09International transfers
Because hotels and travelers use Bufeco across different countries, your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards to protect information transferred internationally.
10Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through a notice on bufeco.com before the changes take effect.
